Eastern Conference:

1 Chicago vs. 8 Indiana

4 Orlando vs. 5 Atlanta

(BOS 4-0)

2 Miami vs. 7 Philadelphia
(MIA 3-1)

The Bulls won the first three games in their series against the Pacers. The Pacers then barely won over the top seed by 5 points. The series goes back to Chicago next; look for Chicago to finish it off. Even though Dwight Howard is dominating, Atlanta has still taken a 3-1 series lead. It will be tough, but look for Atlanta to wrap things up on the road Tuesday night. The Celtics took advantage of key injuries to the Knicks stars (Chauncey Billups and Amare Stoudemire) and swept the series in 4 straight games. The Heat also almost swept yesterday but a late 10-0 run by the 76ers causes a Game 5. Most likely the Heat will finish it at home then.

1 San Antonio vs. 8 Memphis

4 Oklahoma City vs. 5 Denver

(TIED 2-2)

The Grizzlies have jumped out to a quick 2-1 series lead over the Spurs after taking over home court advantage. The young Thunder led by Kevin Durant and Russel Westbrook have taken over their series, winning the first three games. They look for the sweep tonight at Denver. The Mavericks and Trail Blazers have each one their home games so far. The Mavs still have the home court advantage as now, essentially, it's a 3 game series. Surprisingly, the Hornets, led by Chris Paul, are tied with the Lakers. Chris Paul has been dominant in the series and is the key to the Hornets' success. The Lakers still have home court advantage and it is now a 3 game series.

Western Conference playoffs

The regular season ended last night, and the western conference first round matchups are set:

1 San Antonio vs. 8 Memphis

4 Oklahoma City vs. 5 Denver

3 Dallas vs. 6 Portland

2 Los Angeles vs. 7 New Orleans

The Spurs finished the regular season tied for the best record in the league. They are strong favorites against the Grizzlies in the first round, and are probably going to go far in the playoffs. The young Thunder, led by stars Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, will make a good matchup for the Nuggets who have been very good after they traded away Carmelo Anthony. This is definitely the series to watch. The Mavericks might be upset by the Trail Blazers since they haven't proved to be as good as some say they are. The Hornets, led by all-star Chris Paul, will look to upset the Andrew Bynum-less Lakers in the first round, but there isn't too good of a chance.

After the games yesterday, the first round matchups are set. They are:

2 Miami    vs. 7. Philadelphia

The Bulls have been looking good at the end of the year and will end the season with only 20 losses. Most likely they will beat the Pacers in their first round matchup. They are also one of the favorites to win the championship. The Magic and the Hawks will be the best series, as these two teams were solid all year and finished with almost the same record. This series is the one to watch. The Celtics play their division rivals, the New York Knicks, in their first round matchup. With midseason trades hurting the Celtics but helping the Knicks, this series might turn out to be very interesting. Plus, the Celtics have been in a major slump lately. And finally, the Heat are a strong favorite against the young 76ers.

The Western Conference matchups still depend on the few games left in the season.
